Summer in Greece is just wonderful. The warmest period is the last ten days of July and the first of August when the mean maximum temperature ranges from 30C up to 38C. During the warm season, high temperatures are tempered by the cool sea breeze from the north winds that blow mainly in the Aegean. Undoubtedly most weddings and christenings take place in summer. This is due firstly to the clear weather and secondly to the fact that more people are able to take holidays at this time.
It is the ideal time to have your wedding "away", since most of your guests can move easily. You could hold your wedding at the place where you come from or have a traditional wedding somewhere picturesque or choose a more cosmopolitan island. It is also the ideal time to organize a wedding reception on the beach without being afraid that the wind, cold or a storm would likely spoil the plans. Summer offers a further advantage, it also gives you more options for your honeymoon.
